Printer

WHO: Depessemier Side project

WHAT: photography

As a graphic designer one of my dream was to visit and explore a printing workshop. I got sush nice opportunity with the visit of Depessemier printer; a family business since 1884. First named WODON printer, they used to do prints for the royale familly. I could spent hours hearing Pierre’s old stories about his family and its workshop. Switching from typography, to lithography, rotogravure, linotype or monotype, I was hang off Pierre’ every words or anecdote. The one I prefer under all is the letterpress block, these wood letters are just perfect! (Actually decorating my room) I also had fun wearing their old blue uniform making a linotype printing block. The history of printing is so interesting, mostly when you know it started centuries ago!
